Functionality

Triggers Overdrive when inside the Storm, granting increased movement speed to escape or reposition safely.

Swim speed greatly increased. Taking damage also briefly increases movement speed.

Increases in power at each Level Up: 25% Swim Speed / 10% Movement Speed -> 50% / 20% -> 100% / 30% -> 150% / 40% -> 200% / 50%

Fishy is a rotation sprite — the swim speed and damage-triggered movement boost let you traverse the map faster than any vehicle. Take intentional chip damage (fall from a small height) to trigger the speed buff, then sprint to zone. Excellent for storm-running rotations. Cube variants trigger Overdrive when inside the Storm — a movement speed boost for escaping or repositioning in the circle. Released July 23, 2026 as part of New Sprite Day. Best paired with late-game rotation strategies where storm positioning matters.

FISHY GUIDE

This guide covers the base Fishy sprite's abilities and strategy. The Cube Fishy variant shares the same core mechanics with an additional theme bonus.

The Rotation Speed Demon

Fishy is a pure mobility sprite. It massively increases your swim speed and grants bonus movement speed after taking damage. The combination makes Fishy the fastest sprite for traversing the map — swim at extreme speed through water, and sprint faster on land whenever you take even a single point of damage. It doesn't win fights, but it gets you to fights faster than anyone else.

Speed Scaling

Fishy's bonuses at each level: 25%/10% → 50%/20% → 100%/30% → 150%/40% → 200%/50% (swim speed / movement speed). At Level 5, you swim THREE TIMES normal speed and run 50% faster after taking damage. The swim speed is absurd — you cross rivers and lakes in seconds, making water features into high-speed highways.

Damage-Triggered Movement Trick

The movement speed buff triggers whenever you take damage — from any source. This includes fall damage. Smart Fishy users deliberately take small falls (jump off a one-story building) to trigger the sprint buff before important rotations. The self-damage is minimal (10-20 HP from a short fall) but the 50% speed boost at Level 5 lasts long enough to outrun the storm or reposition for a fight.

Storm Running Specialist

Fishy is the best sprite for late-game storm rotations. When the circle moves far and you need to cover distance fast, Fishy players can swim through any water encountered at 3x speed, then take intentional chip damage to sprint the land portions at 50% bonus speed. No vehicle needed. Combined with the Cube variant (Overdrive in storm), Fishy users simply never die to the storm.

Why Fishy Is Mid-Tier

Speed doesn't win gunfights. Ghost gives combat advantage; Demon heals through fights; Boss adds health. Fishy only helps you GET to fights faster, which is valuable for rotating but doesn't change your TTK, survivability, or damage output. In competitive matches where rotations matter enormously, Fishy rises in value. In casual games where fights happen at landing spots, it's less impactful.
