Holofoil Water es una variante temática Holofoil del sprite Water de la temporada Runners en Fortnite. Está disponible y se puede coleccionar en Fortnite.
5% chance for your squad to find rare Sprite Variants from looting chests
Replenish shields while standing in water!
Increases in power at each Level Up: 2 Shield -> 3 Shield -> 4 Shield -> 5 Shield -> 6 Shield per tick
Water shines in late-game circles that overlap rivers or coastline. Position yourself in water during final zones and your shields regenerate passively — no meds needed. Pairs well with aggressive peek-and-heal playstyles where you can dip back into water between shots. Holofoil's 5% squad-wide rare variant discovery bonus stacks with your collection goals. Equip it whenever you're hunting other Special variants.
Holofoil variants drop at ~1.5% from Spirit Chests. Farm faster: switch to a distant server, disable cross-platform, and run Solo Zero Build bot lobbies. Hit towers, caves, and Golden Fishing Spots.
This guide covers the base Water sprite's abilities and strategy. The Holofoil Water variant shares the same core mechanics with an additional theme bonus.
Water sprite's shield regeneration effect has been intermittently bugged since early in the Runners season. Multiple Reddit threads (119+ upvotes) confirm that Water's intended effect — shield regen while standing in water — was silently replaced with Earth's chest-loot bonus for over a week during one patch. While Epic has addressed some bugs, players report inconsistent behavior. Check patch notes before investing Sprite Dust.
When functioning properly, Water regenerates shields while you stand in any body of water (rivers, lakes, beaches, swimming pools). The regen scales from 2 Shield per tick at Level 1 to 6 Shield per tick at Level 5. At max level, standing in water for 10 seconds restores 60 shields — equivalent to three mini shields. It's passive, automatic, and doesn't require emoting or any specific action.
Water is highly location-dependent. Landing at river-adjacent POIs (Restored Reels, Sandy Shore areas) maximizes uptime. During rotations, deliberately path through water bodies for free shield top-offs. Late game, any water source becomes a healing station. The limitation is obvious: no water means no ability, making Water useless in inland areas with no water features.
Water's chapter 7 behavior also heals nearby squadmates when you're in water — making it a support sprite for team modes. Position yourself in water during team fights near beaches or rivers, and your whole squad benefits from passive shield regeneration. This squad utility is what separates Water from a pure solo sprite.
Even when working correctly, Water is bottom-tier because its condition (standing in water) is too restrictive. Most fights happen on land. Most endgame zones are inland. You can't choose to activate it on demand — you need the map to cooperate. Combined with the ongoing bug reputation, most players skip Water for sprites with universal activation conditions.
