Why Ghost Is Ranked #1 by the Community
Ghost consistently tops every Fortnite sprite tier list — and our community vote confirms it. The cloak-on-reload mechanic is deceptively powerful: every time you reload your weapon, you turn invisible for up to 5 seconds at max level. This doesn't just help you escape — it lets you reposition mid-fight, confuse enemies tracking your movement, and peek from unpredictable angles.
Best Weapon Pairings
Ghost's power scales directly with your weapon's reload frequency. The Chaos Reloader shotgun is the dream pairing — it reloads after every single shot, meaning you're cloaked almost constantly during close-range combat. Other strong combos include pump shotguns (reload between each shot), revolvers, and any weapon with a short magazine that forces frequent reloads. Avoid LMGs and drum-style weapons that rarely reload during a fight.
Ghost in Build Mode vs Zero Build
In Build mode, Ghost turns every box fight into a guessing game — cloak, edit out, and your opponent loses track of which wall you're behind. In Zero Build, it's equally dominant because there are no walls to hide behind; the cloak IS your cover. Ghost is the rare sprite that's S-tier in both modes without qualification.
Leveling Priority and Spawn Tips
Ghost spawns at nighttime in the world — look for it during the in-game night cycle in open areas. The cloak duration scales from 3 seconds at Level 1 to 5 seconds at Level 5. Even at Level 1, the 3-second window is enough to reload a shotgun and reposition. Prioritize leveling Ghost over almost any other sprite — every level adds half a second of invisibility, which is massive in a game where fights last 5-10 seconds.
Countering Ghost Users
If you're fighting against a Ghost user, listen for the reload sound cue — the cloak activates on reload, so the audio tells you exactly when they vanish. Splash damage (grenades, rocket splash, fire) can reveal their position. Thermal scopes and visual effects from Aura's Shock Rock can also hit cloaked players.
