5% chance for your squad to find rare Sprite Variants from looting chests.
Base ability (from Aura): Gain a Shock Rock charge when you deal enough damage to enemies!
This variant is currently unreleased and will become available in a future update.
Aura builds toward a Shock Rock charge through accumulated damage dealt. The key insight: damage is cumulative across the fight, not per hit — spray weapons (SMGs, ARs) fill the meter faster than snipers. At Level 5 you need only 75 total damage to trigger, which is less than one magazine. Holofoil's 5% squad-wide rare variant discovery bonus stacks with your collection goals. Equip it whenever you're hunting other Special variants.
Holofoil variants drop at ~1.5% from Spirit Chests. Farm faster: switch to a distant server, disable cross-platform, and run Solo Zero Build bot lobbies. Hit towers, caves, and Golden Fishing Spots.
This guide covers the base Aura sprite's abilities and strategy. The Holofoil Aura variant shares the same core mechanics with an additional theme bonus.
Aura builds toward a free Shock Rock charge by accumulating damage dealt to enemies. Once you've dealt enough total damage (75 at Level 5), you receive a Shock Rock — an explosive projectile that deals significant burst damage. It's like earning a free grenade through normal gunplay, rewarding sustained aggression with bonus burst damage.
Required damage to trigger at each level: 175 → 150 → 125 → 100 → 75. At Level 1, you need nearly two full magazines of AR damage before earning a Shock Rock — too slow to matter in most fights. At Level 5, a single AR clip (75 damage) gives you a free explosive. The sprite becomes genuinely useful only at Level 4-5.
Aura tracks total damage dealt, not per-hit or per-fight. This means spray weapons (SMGs, ARs, LMGs) that deal many small hits fill the meter faster than snipers or shotguns that deal few large hits. The ideal weapon pairing is a high-fire-rate AR or SMG — you'll earn Shock Rocks every few seconds during extended engagements.
Aura shines in drawn-out team fights where you're continuously dealing damage over 20-30 seconds. In these scenarios, you can earn 2-3 Shock Rocks during a single fight, adding significant burst damage to your team's output. In quick 1v1 duels that end in 3 seconds, Aura barely has time to generate one charge.
Aura sits solidly in mid-tier because its value is inconsistent. Some fights produce multiple Shock Rocks; many fights end before you generate even one. Compared to Ghost (value every reload), Demon (value every kill), or Boss (value always), Aura's conditional, delayed payoff makes it less reliable as a primary sprite choice. Viable but not optimal.
