RELOAD EXCLUSIVE

How to Get the John Wick Sprite in Fortnite

The John Wick sprite launched on July 30, 2026 alongside The Confidential POI and a free John Wick skin questline. Unlike most sprites, the John Wick sprite is exclusive to Fortnite Reload — you won't find it in regular Battle Royale or Zero Build chests.

Finding the John Wick Sprite in Reload

The John Wick sprite spawns randomly when opening chests in Fortnite Reload mode. There are two ways to obtain it:

  • Opening chests — The sprite drops randomly from any chest in Reload, similar to how other sprites spawn in BR. Open as many chests as possible each round to maximize your chances.
  • Eliminating a player who has it — If an enemy has the John Wick sprite equipped (visible on their Back Bling), eliminating them drops the sprite for you to pick up. Check enemies' backs when engaging — many players will be carrying it for the Contract quest.

Make it a habit to check enemies' Back Bling during Reload matches. There's a John Wick Sprite Contract quest that tasks players with eliminating 10 opponents while the sprite is equipped, so you'll frequently encounter other players carrying it.

How to Extract the John Wick Sprite in Reload

Unlike regular Battle Royale, Reload mode has no Extraction Sites. Instead, you need to find a Reload Portable Extractor — a Legendary-rarity item that also drops randomly from chests.

  • The Reload Portable Extractor is not common — don't expect to find one quickly unless you're lucky. Keep opening chests even after you've found the sprite.
  • It takes up one inventory slot (unlike the regular Portable Extractor in BR which doesn't consume a slot).
  • Once you have both the sprite AND the extractor, use the extractor to permanently add the John Wick sprite to your collection.

Can You Use It in Battle Royale and Zero Build?

Yes — once you've successfully extracted the John Wick sprite in Reload and added it to your collection, you can equip it in any game mode including regular Battle Royale and Zero Build. The Reload exclusivity only applies to finding the sprite. After extraction, it works like any other sprite in your collection.

This means the only realistic paths to getting it are: play Reload and find/extract it yourself, or get extremely lucky by eliminating someone in BR/ZB who already has it equipped from their collection.

John Wick Sprite Ability: Knock Reveals

The John Wick sprite's confirmed ability: knocking a player reveals other enemies nearby. When you down an opponent, surrounding players are marked and visible through walls for a duration that scales with level (3 seconds at Level 1 up to 5 seconds at Level 5). This is an information-warfare ability that punishes grouped enemies — down one, and you instantly know where the rest of the squad is hiding.

The ability is particularly strong in Reload mode where respawns mean you're constantly engaging groups of enemies. Each knock gives you full intel on nearby threats, creating a cascade of information that aggressive players can exploit for multi-kills.

The John Wick Sprite Contract Quest

Alongside the sprite release, Epic added a John Wick Sprite Contract — a questline that rewards a free John Wick skin upon completion. The quest requires eliminating 10 players while the John Wick sprite is equipped in your loadout. This is completable across multiple matches in any mode (once you've extracted the sprite), making it accessible for casual players.

The Confidential POI

The John Wick sprite launched alongside The Confidential — a new John Wick-themed POI added to the Reload map. This location features film-inspired architecture and serves as a thematic home for the crossover content. It's also a high-loot area where you're more likely to encounter other players hunting for the sprite.

John Wick Sprite FAQ

Is the John Wick sprite in regular Battle Royale?

No — the John Wick sprite is exclusive to Fortnite Reload for finding and extracting. It does NOT spawn in BR or Zero Build chests. However, once extracted in Reload, you can equip and use it in any mode.

How do I extract the John Wick sprite?

Find a Reload Portable Extractor (Legendary rarity, random chest drops in Reload). Use it while carrying the sprite to permanently add it to your collection. Note: the extractor takes one inventory slot.

What does the John Wick sprite do?

Knocking players reveals others nearby. Mark duration scales from 3 to 5 seconds across levels 1-5. It's an intel ability — down one enemy and you instantly see where their teammates are positioned.

How do I get the free John Wick skin?

Complete the John Wick Sprite Contract quest: eliminate 10 players while the John Wick sprite is equipped. Works across any mode once you've extracted the sprite. No V-Bucks required.

What rarity is the John Wick sprite?

Mythic — the highest and rarest tier. In Reload chests it has a low but farmable spawn rate. Summoning with Sprite Dust costs 7,500. Most players will find it through dedicated Reload gameplay rather than summoning.

Can I find it by eliminating someone in BR?

Technically yes — if someone in BR/ZB has the John Wick sprite equipped from their collection and you eliminate them, it drops. But this requires them to have already extracted it in Reload first. Playing Reload directly is far more reliable.
