Cube King è una variante a tema Cube dello sprite King della stagione Runners in Fortnite. Attualmente non è uscito e non è ancora disponibile nel gioco.
A Cube-themed variant with unique visual effects. Specific bonus ability to be confirmed upon release.
Base ability (from King): Your Pickaxe deals more damage.
This variant is currently unreleased and will become available in a future update.
King is a Build-mode specialist. The pickaxe damage bonus lets you one-shot or two-shot enemy walls, making wall-takes instant and box-fighting dominant. In Zero Build, King is nearly useless — you rarely swing the pickaxe in combat. Pick King only if you play Build. Cube variants trigger Overdrive when inside the Storm — a movement speed boost for escaping or repositioning in the circle. Released July 23, 2026 as part of New Sprite Day. Best paired with late-game rotation strategies where storm positioning matters.
This guide covers the base King sprite's abilities and strategy. The Cube King variant shares the same core mechanics with an additional theme bonus.
King does one thing and does it exceptionally well: your pickaxe hits harder. At Level 5, you deal 120 bonus damage per swing — enough to break a freshly placed wood wall in a single hit. In Build mode, this is transformative. Wall-taking (destroying an enemy's wall to replace it with yours) is the fundamental mechanic of high-level box fighting, and King makes every take instant.
The community tier list splits on King more than any other sprite. In Build mode, it's unanimously top-3. In Zero Build, it drops to mid-tier because there are no player-built walls to break — you almost never swing the pickaxe during combat. The only Zero Build value is faster material farming for cover pieces, which is marginal. If you exclusively play Zero Build, skip King entirely.
King's bonus pickaxe damage at each level: 30 → 40 → 60 → 80 → 120. The critical breakpoint is Level 4 (80 bonus), which combined with the pickaxe's base damage lets you two-hit brick walls. At Level 5, you one-hit wood — the gold standard for competitive wall-taking. Rush to Level 4 as your first priority.
In competitive Fortnite (FNCS, Cash Cups), King is considered mandatory for trio builds players. The ability to one-hit walls means you never lose a wall-take contest, and you can break into boxes without alerting the opponent with multiple hits. Many pro players rate King as the single strongest sprite for competitive Build mode — even above Ghost — because wall control wins tournaments.
Land somewhere with plenty of wood structures (Reckless Railways, any forest POI) to level King quickly through farming. Each harvesting action counts toward leveling, so aggressive material farming in the first 2 minutes can get King to Level 3-4 before your first fight. Then push immediately while your advantage is at its peak.
